I am finding myself in a unique situation. Well, maybe it’s not too unique. Part of my goal is to reach out to other women in a similar place. If you’re out there, please wave your hands frantically so I know I’m not alone! My other goal is to inform the public of how weird it is to be both PhD student AND a pastor’s wife AND a person switching from a small contemporary church to a large, traditional church.

It’s pretty much common knowledge that being a PhD student is stressful, but what about being a wife of a church leader? I just recently heard about how hard it is to be one, and I don’t think I’m prepared for what’s to come. There are so many things I didn’t think about, like a heaping load of social and emotional responsibilities. And all the expectations?! I’ll write about those soon enough, and I’ll be asking for prayer along the way.

I know how to handle millions of bacteria, but a big Baptist church full of people?
